The raised silver surfaces have been polished, and the recessed areas deeply oxidized to create contrast, dimension and the appearance of an ocean relic shaped by time.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe reverse is a work of art in its own right. The elaborate back plate was individually hand cut with a jeweler’s saw—never cast or mass-produced. Three spear forms rise through the pierced silver, surrounded by flowing scrollwork and darkened negative spaces.
